Is it just about the money?
Just ask… Practical Action
After the Boxing Day 2002 tsunami, we wanted to do more than put our hands in our pockets. Later renamed Practical Action, the Intermediate Technology Development Group charity were looking for help in improving their fund-raising, particularly to corporates as well as to regular supporters like personal donors and government bodies. For the last 10 years we have trained most of their staff pro bono to present their case to both large organisations and individuals. Following up this work, David Milne has been to Bangladesh to see the results of what they do for poverty relief, children’s education and, most impressively, problem-solving confidence in some of the poorest people in the world.

“Winning Hearts and Minds” is an inspirational course. Every member of our team who participated rated it as excellent. There has been a direct impact on the quality of presentation and the willingness of people to present.
I would recommend Winning Hearts and Minds to anyone keen to improve their ability to influence.
Margaret Gardner, Marketing Director
In thirty-three years of work, including 20 years in a major corporation, Najberg Milne’s “Winning Hearts and Minds” was by far the best training I have ever received. In saying that, I am comparing it to a wide variety of in-house and external courses that I’ve done over the years – too many to remember to be honest – but including training in IT, management, negotiating skills, teaching, and quality systems, not to mention a previous presentation skills course.
For me, the course was inspirational, and it’s not an exaggeration to say it was life-changing. For a former IT manager with a worthy but perhaps rather dull presentation style, to be able – as I did last week – to captivate a class of primary school children and then later in the day bring tears to the eyes of an audience of adults…….need I say more?
Mike Eldridge, Knowledge & Communications Unit
“Winning Hearts and Minds” Part 1 was inspirational it took everybody on the course way beyond their own imagined limits. People made amazing improvements and left with new skills and a realisation that they can give great presentations. It is just a matter of hard work and good technique.
Part 2 deals with content. It is not as exciting as Part 1 but is even more challenging and useful. It teaches you how to capture your audience, win their respect and present them with your message. I have just done one presentation since the course and people, who I would never have expected to respond, talked to me enthusiastically about the ideas I presented.
